IPTV Audio Out of Sync? How to Fix Lip-Sync Problems

Updated 1 min read

When audio and video drift apart, the delay is usually added somewhere in your own setup (TV picture processing, a soundbar or receiver, or a player setting) rather than in the stream itself. Test one channel on a second device first: if it's in sync there, the fix is on your original setup.

1. Is it one channel or all of them?

  • One channel only: the channel's source may be out of sync. Report it with the channel name and time.
  • Every channel, every app: your TV or audio equipment is adding delay.
  • Every channel in one app only: that app's player or settings.

2. Check TV and audio settings

  • Turn on the TV's game or low-latency picture mode temporarily. If sync improves, picture processing was delaying the video.
  • Look for an audio delay, AV sync or lip-sync setting on the TV, soundbar or receiver, and adjust it in small steps.
  • If you use a soundbar, try the TV speakers briefly to see whether the soundbar is the source.

3. Check the player app

  • Some player apps have an audio delay setting; adjust it while watching a speaker's face.
  • Switch between the app's player or decoder options.
  • If the channel has more than one audio track, try another track.

4. Restart the chain

Restart the streaming device, then the TV and audio equipment. Bluetooth headphones and speakers add noticeable delay; wired audio or the TV's own speakers avoid it.
