The electronic program guide (EPG) is the TV-guide grid that shows what's on now and next. In IPTV it usually comes from an XMLTV file: a list of programs with start times, titles and descriptions for each channel.
How the guide gets into your player
- Xtream Codes logins usually load the guide automatically, so there's nothing extra to set up.
- M3U playlists can point to a guide in their first line (an
url-tvgattribute), or you add an EPG URL in the app's settings by hand. - The player matches guide data to channels using each channel's
tvg-id. If the IDs don't match, that channel shows no guide.
Adding an EPG URL manually
- Open your player's settings and find EPG, TV guide or Program guide sources.
- Add the EPG (XMLTV) URL that came with your subscription.
- Select Update EPG or Refresh. Large guides can take a few minutes on slower devices.
The guide is empty
- Force a guide refresh from settings, then restart the app.
- Check that the EPG URL is entered exactly, including
http://orhttps://. - Some players only download a few days of guide data at a time, so a blank grid further ahead is normal.
- Low-memory devices may struggle with very large guide files. Try clearing the app's cache.
Program times are wrong
If every listing is off by the same number of hours, it's a time-zone problem. Check that your device's time zone is set correctly, then look for an EPG time shift or time offset setting in the player and adjust it to match.
The guide is on the wrong channel
This happens when two channels share a tvg-id, or a channel's ID doesn't match the guide. Many players let you assign guide data to a channel by hand. Look for Edit channel → EPG source. If the problem is on our side, tell support which channel is affected.
